Apparently Landlord company signed bulk agreement with Comcast in October 2007. Notified this week with addendum to lease effective 2/1/2007 that rent is increasing $40/month and I will be in default of rent if I do not pay. It is only a savings of $4.00 per month over standard cable and the service in my area is very substandard.It also says that they have no responsibility for service level. Many people in complex use satellite and will be required to pay anyway. Is this legal?
common sense will tell you that leases cannot be altered without the consent of both parties in writing.
additionally, add-ons or deletions may not be done unless an alternate is substitute is equal or better and may not charge the tenant on/in lease situation.
