How to tell if you installed a maintenance kit correctly on a hp 8150n?
I believe i did it right but when i turned the printer back on i smell a strong eletrical burning smell, it only last a short time but it was real strong, this was my first install. Is this smell normal? I replaced the fuser and roller
Usually if it powers up without any errors and prints correctly and clearly, then you've installed it correctly. As for the strong electrical burning smell, that's kind of odd. Usually there is a slight smell (or no smell at all) from the fuser when it is heated up, but usually not strong. Did you make sure to remove all the packing material and restraints from the fuser? Since the smell went away quickly and everything is working ok, then you should be fine. The roller won't cause a smell.
