My lawn tractor speeds up and slows down, and I noticed the gas filter is only partly full, is that normal?
Or should the gas filter be full of gas?
Usually what causes that is some crud in the carb- even the best filters still dont catch everything.
Youll need to remove the carb from the tractor, disassemble it, thouroughly clean it and put it all back together- even one blocked passage in the carb will cause issues.
As suggested- change the fuel filter while youre at it- might as well go for a tune up as well ( if it hasnt been done in a while).
