Equipment Dealer News

Digital switchover 'confusing'?

A news report today says that many people are still buying analogue TVs unaware that they are soon going to have to buy extra equipment to receive a signal, some dealers are also confused.

Going by the amount of questions posed on this site regarding the matter, is Joe public really thick, or has the £200m campaign been handled poorly?

Ianhad, so you can't get channel 5?....some people have all the luck!

I think that the media is interpreting the information they have incorrectly on purpose to make yet another go-no-where story!

If people are still buying analogue TV's it is because they can get them REALLY cheap and use them with a set-top box!

I don't understand why the media doesn't 'get' this!

Not everyone can afford to ditch perfectly good CRT TV's in favour of over-priced, over-rated HD LCD or Plasma flat screen's to hang on a wall and impress the neighbours!

Most of us have seen these sorts of tricks before! Sad thing is that you only have to go to your local recycling centre to see the CRT TV's piled high.............all working just ditched for fashion and scare mongering.................so much for carbon foot-prints and environmentally sound behaviour!
