If you let a peafowl roam free will it leave?
We have a 110 acre farm. We would like to get a pair of peacocks to turn loose on the farm but wonder if they would stay. If we have a pair, would they stay since they wouldn't have to roam searching for a mate? If we got them after they've hatched and put them on the farm, would they stay?
There really is no certain answer, not all animals follow the same behavior. When we had peafowl they would often roam and even be gone for a day or two at a time. We had one male and two females, the females were the first to leave, the male enjoyed sitting at our front door but he too eventually went away. It may help to keep them fenced in somehow at first so they learn where they can find food and water and they'll be less likely to go too far away.
