why is my starter on my mower not disengaging even when the key is turned off???
I have a John Deere LT155 riding mower. The hot wire going to the starter is now alway hot for some reason.....even when I tried turning the key switch off, pulling out the key, and even unplugging the harness plugin to the key switch. This cause the starter to keep turning and turning without stopping..I have to unhook the battery cable. Does this sound like a bad solenoid and if so is there a way to check a solenoid? I appreciate any help please.
The starter relay may be sticking, or it may be working correctly, if you messed with it. You can wire them up so that they will latch in.
