How do I fix a swamp Yard?
My yard has a lot of clay so the water sits on tops and pools. I recently had a french drain put in and it it did wonders. However I still have a few spots where water pools. I thought about taking a post hole digger and digging a few holes where the water pools. Put some perferated PVC pipe in the hole with rock and gravel. Any opnions on this. I also though of doing A mini french drain where I did a small chanel a few feet adding pvc rocks and gravel to drain the water away from sampy spots and spread it around to a dryer spot. That dry spot may be a grave filled hole that is covered with dirt or another post hole with pvc. Any suggestions. I am trying avoid another full blown french drain.
I always called them dry wells.I don't know how big your lot is ,but I would purchase a dump truck full of sand to help with drainage.you are doing what are supposed to be doing.clay soil is such a pain. One of my clients had the same problem,excavated 6 dump trucks of clay soil removed,replaced it with sandy loam,and still has problems with drainage.there is only so much you can do.
