How do you replace a lug bolt on 2005 ford explorer?
I need to replace a lug bolt and cannot get the hub off
Usually this can be done without removing the hub. After you remove the brake rotor, you can hammer out the piece of the old one, then find the spot with the most room, and rotate the hub to that spot and insert the stud from the back. Sometimes you may have to grind the head on the stud flat on one side so it will fit in. Don't worry about removing a small amount of the head, it won't hurt it. Then you need an installer tool OR an old lug nut and some washers, to draw the stud into the hub. Don't try to hammer it in from the back, draw it in from the front
