why does my toilet stay running?
I had to replace the float assembly in the back of my toilet since the diaphragm went bad. Since i did it keeps running a lil bit every time the tank refills. After the tank refills, it stops, then runs for about 3 seconds, then stops. 0 seconds later it does the same thing again. It does this over and over and over unless I valve it off.
Flush the toilet and wait.. Watch the water in the bowl..
If the water in the bowl keeps moving, then the flapper (flush valve) is bad, and it is allowing water to leak from the tank into the bowl.
Usually the flapper, the thing that the handle chain is attached to is a very easy repair, and only costs a few bucks..
