Problem with carb float on a tecumseh 0hv130 engine?
I replaced the float assembly on the carb last week because the old float bowl had lost the spring and small piece that restricts the flow of gas to the needle that goes into the carb. The engine ran well without the spring and small piece, but it would lose power when the blades were engaged because the engine was basically flooding itself. After the replacement of the float assembly, the carb will not pull gas through the needle in the float assembly. Does anyone know what i can do to correct this problem? I need to fix it quick!!...Thanks
It is a plastic float, you can't adjust it.
you need to bend the tab that the needle is riding on up so that it shuts the fuel supply off earlier as the bowl fills. NO sorry after rereading you need to bend it down!!AFTER YOUR EDIT! Do you have the correct float? Or could you possibly file/grind down the boss withput going through the float and making it leak?
